Octaine - Music For Open Ears
What Where When Who How

One drunken night down the pub, a couple of friends sat together complaining about the fact that there wasn't a decent club night in Cambridge that would play their favourite music and so they decided to set up their own. And thus Octaine was born!

Its many year mission: "To play tunes that count, to play tunes that rock and to play tunes that you most likly haven't heard before. To deliver a mix you won't hear anywhere else (for good or for bad) and to give a club free of genre dogma or sub-culture rules. In short - To boldly go where no club has gone before!"

A monthly club night with a difference, catering for varied tastes from old style rock and 80's Cheese via lazy, jazzy and folky tunes to modern industrial and electro.

The idea is to provide a fresh alternative to other club nights which get bogged up in the same old tracks. As our slogan says, "Music for Open Ears", we're up for anything, except Top 40 pop pap. Of course, cool stuff from the Top 40 might still be played (I can think of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Electric Six and others).

Bands you might hear include:
Iron Maiden, Metallica, B.B. King, Luther Allison, Maceo Parker, James Brown, The Misfits, Less Than Jake, Atari Teenage Riot, Frontline Assembly, Funker Vogt, Aslan Faction, Tactical Sekt, GG Allen, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Nightwish, Subway to Sally, In Extremo, Dead Can Dance, Corvus Corax, Finisterra, Schandmaul, Tanzwut, Unheilig.
